How we MAKE GOOD TROUBLE – Douglas County
Do you ever wonder how protests, boycotts, or letter writing can lead to the restoration of democracy? Do you ever wonder if you’re doing the right thing at the right time? If yes, this workshop is for you. We’ll explore the way nonviolent resistance works and talk about how to use it in our own lives. Then, we’ll kick off a WEEK OF ACTION for Good Trouble Lives On, the next mass mobilization from Indivisible. (warning: the week will include prizes!)
Workshop content is based on work by nonviolent activism experts Gene Sharp and Srdja Popovic. Content also comes from the International Center from Nonviolent Conflict (www.nonviolent-conflict.org) and the Rise for Freedom Training series (rise4freedom.org).

This workshop is our kick-off to Douglas County Activism Task Force’s WEEK OF ACTION! The Week of Action will be formally introduced in this workshop, as well as through social media and emails put out by Douglas County Colorado Activism Task Force.

Good Trouble Lives On – Day of Action
Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump regime and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.
On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.
This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
